Transportation Utility Fees (TUF)

How we got here

In the fall of 2025, City Council adopted the code setting the purpose of the Transportation Utility Fee, how the funds can be used, and the fee rates.

To gather public input, the City hosted an Open House in May and Public Hearing in July.

City Council discussed the fee at several public meetings before it was adopted in 2025. Recordings of those meetings can be found on the City Council Agenda and Minutes Page.
  • On May 22, 2025, the City held an Open House for the public that was held at the Farr West Senior Center.
  • On July 17, 2025, City Council held a Public Hearing to listen to public comment regarding the proposed TUF (see public notice here).
  • On October 2, 2025, City Council approved and adopted Ordinance No. 2025-09.
  • On November 3, 2025, Bona Vista began charging the TUF based upon rates determined by the established ERU.
